While Russ went on his annual guys' hunting weekend, the kids and I went to visit the Ivesters' at their home in the hill country and look at the "nice" deer (because Daddy went to shoot the "mean" deer). The kids loved putting out corn and watching the deer come up to the house to eat. Nancy and Edwin (Emily's parents) were so very sweet to us. This was a visit I know my kids will cherish. They love the outdoors and nature, and seeing these animals so close was a real treat!
And Emme loves tasting the outdoors! She loved putting leaves into her mouth every time I turned my head!
