Thanksgiving in Midland

Here are our snow pics from Thanksgiving!

We partake in an American tradition: the snowball fight!

Didn't work out so good for me, though.......

I was really cold!

This pic was taken AFTER he said he was sorry for nailing me with the snowball.

Oscar didn't quite fit into his hotdog costume this year and he was not happy about posing for this picture!
Me and Bea the cutest dog witch in town!
Russ was in tears from laughing so hard at Bea trying to take off her witch hat. You can see that little things amuse us the most!

Winter Wonderland

Over Thanksgiving break Russ and I made the 9 hour track up to Midland to visit the folks! We had a great time seeing old friends and family and the best part of the trip was the beautiful snow! Now that we live in South Texas we have become accustomed to mild temperatures and haven't felt the extreme cold in a while. Whoa were we COLD!

The morning of Thanksgiving Russell woke me with the news,"It's snowing!" I felt like I was 8 years old on Christmas morning because I ran outside in my PJs to feel the snow. It doesn't snow often and I was scared that it might stop so I had to get out and play in slushy ice, but we were lucky because it snowed all day. We had a snowball fight, which Russ really nailed me. For some reason when we have these little contests on who will get who the most he ALWAYS wins. After I said truce, we got the dogs and tried to get them to cooperate for pictures. Of course they have a mind of their own and do not do what you want them to do.

After the turkey, Russ and his dad went to the deer lease with his crew of camo-wearing, camp-loving friends and I stayed with Mary to sleep and catch up on movies! One thing I have told Russ up front is that I am not a camper and will never be a wife who enjoys going to the deer lease! That is his utopia and mine is AnnTaylorLOFT!

We miss our Midland friends and can't wait to see them again in December at the Sebring's Annual Christmas party!

Texas/OU Pictures

Whoa..was it hot!!!

T-E-X-A-S Fight!

More Cowbell Anyone?

As most of you know I surprised Russell with Texas/OU tickets for his 30th birthday. We traveled this weekend to Dallas to partake in the annual Red River Shootout. I have to say that watching college football in the Cotton Bowl stadium is a lot of fun.

Since Russ and I did not attend a D-I school we felt left out with the football frenzy that my dad and brother parcipate in so.........we made the executive decision to become die-hard Texas Fans.

When we arrived at the Texas State Fair we made a beeline for Fletcher's Corny Dog stand where we enjoyed the famous state fair corny dog. We did not however try the fried Oreos, marshmellows or snickers that they had, but we have heard they are delicious.

Throughout the pre-game spirit, Russ and I had the task of learning the "Eyes of Texas" so we could act like we knew what we were doing. Nobody wants to be the "drugstore Texas fan" and we weren't about to let anyone know our alias ( Texas State Alumni). Between laughing at each other, trying to master the song and trying to act cool we finally nailed the words! I am proud to say that I was a pro for the 2nd, 3rd and 4th quarters! Russell was even impressed that I managed to memorize words to a song.

As you know the Horns put up a great fight but in the end those darn Sooners went home with the victory. We loved watching the Longhorns in person and feeling the sweat on our faces, swollen hands from clapping and soar throats from yelling because it was a great day! It makes me smile when I remember how much fun Russ had on Saturday!

Pictures with Oceana

Again I am not good at posting pictures so if anyone knows how to do this well, please send me some info.

Oceana's visit

Russell and I had our goddaughter, Oceana, over for two weeks this summer and we all had a great time! She has only traveled out of Midland a couple of times and this was her second visit to see us. We went to the beach, built sand castles, went shopping and she even worked in Russell's office. This little girl is so precious and we love being a part of her life. We can't wait til she visits us next year!

Baby Jack

We just got back from our first visit with our new nephew, Jack Tomlinson! He is the cutest thing! He was born on March 14th. For all of you who wondering who the baby belongs to--he is Russell's sister and brother-in-law's baby. Russell and I enjoyed just looking at him. He is only three weeks old so no tossing the baseball around yet. WE are so happy for Marcie and Keith! It was a wonderful testament to the Easter season--the blessing of new life. Happy Easter to everyone! God Bless.
(Sorry about the pics, but I don't know how to rotate them. Any pointers are welcome.)

Oscar's Big Race

Before the race, we are still optimistic....
Oscar's dad gives him a few strategies

April Fools' on us! We took our precious little Oscar to race with the big dogs in the Windfest Dachshund Races today. Russ and I had big aspirations for Oscar. We always bragged how he was three houses fast, but instead he wasn't even an inch fast! Needless to say, we will keep training and hope for the best next year! There is always next year!

Welcome to our Blog!

Welcome to the Sebring blog! Since Russ and I have moved South, I thought this would be a great way to stay in touch with all our friends. In August Russell got a transfer from Midland to Corpus Christi, Texas. We are still getting adjusted to the new area and to the VERY HUMID climate. Coming from Midland to CC has been a change, especially from the amount of good hair days. We bought a house that we are currently fixing up. It has been so much fun remodeling a house to our taste, but it has been frustrating too. All in all this new step in our lives is a blessing and we are so fortunate to have such wonderful family and friends. Keep checking our blog for updates!
